On the hill opposite the Pension-Irene can be seen ancient walls of the old Carian and Greek city known as Tymnus. Many of the buildings have been destroyed over the centuries by earthquakes. Everywhere in the village can be seen worked stones, pillars, and other relics of ancient times. Many of the old stones have been re-used by generations of villagers for other purposes Along the bay you will find remains of temples, quays, and small churches. In the part of the bay where previously boots moored, the bottom of the sea can be seen to be covered with broken amphoras. In the marina in Orhaniye can be seen the ruins of an early Roman church. In the mountains behind Orhaniye are the ruins of a sanctuary called Erine. When walking or taking boat trips in the surrounding area, one is constantly coming across new discoveries.
